The Newhall Fire broke out on the 14 Freeway, growing to two acres in size Saturday afternoon before being knocked down.
The brush fire, dubbed the Newhall Fire, was first reported around 5:10 p.m. on the northbound 14 Freeway just north of the 5 Freeway interchange, according to officials.
“The fire grew to two acres,” said Bernard Peters, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire was reportedly burning in light fuels, according to Fire officials.
It was unclear if any lanes of traffic were blocked, but delays are expected.
