The Rowher Fire in Agua Dulce broke out near Mint Canyon Wednesday afternoon, with smoke from the blaze visible from Canyon Country.
UPDATE (10 a.m. Friday): The Rowher Fire in Agua Dulce has held to 620 acres in size with 65 percent containment as of Friday morning. Over 400 firefighters continue to attack hotspots, according to an official announcement by the Angeles National Forest.

UPDATE (4:30 p.m. Thursday): The Rowher Fire in Agua Dulce, said to be 625 acres, is now at 60 percent containment, according to John Clearwater, spokesperson for the ANF.
UPDATE (10 a.m. Thursday): The Rowher Fire in Agua Dulce has reached about 625 acres, mapped out by aircraft, with approximately 40 percent containment, according to ANF Fire Chief Robert Garcia.
“Handline crews worked throughout the night,” Garcia said.
Some relief was brought to firefighters Thursday morning with a marine layer pushing into the area of the fire, according to the chief.
Firefighters were able to hold the line of the blaze with an air assault, according to Garcia.
Over 400 personnel are currently fighting the fire, with a large majority of those units from ANF, Garcia said.
“You’ll still see some smoke out there,” he said. “After containment, there will be some extensive mop-up. We have standby aircraft at Fox Field, you should see some retardant dropped today as well.”
UPDATE (9:00 p.m.): The Rowher Fire has held to about 400 acres, according to John Clearwater, spokesperson for the Angeles National Forest.
“We’ve held at 400 acres, it appears they’ll be able to keep it overnight,” Clearwater said. “I would like to mention that fireworks of any kind are illegal in the National Forest, and we are expecting to be stretched pretty thin this July 4th as many community fireworks shows are canceled and beaches are closed.”
It should be noted Angeles National Forest is the lead agency on the Rowher Fire.
UPDATE (5:10 p.m.): The Rowher Fire has now grown to 400 acres in size, according to Supervisor Sims with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
UPDATE (4:35 p.m.): The Rowher Fire has now grown to 250 acres in size, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
UPDATE (3:45 p.m.): A second alarm response has been called for to battle the Rowher Fire by officials with the Angeles National Forest.
UPDATE (3:40 p.m.): The Rowher Fire as quickly grown to between 150-200 acres in size, according to Marvin Lim with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Officials on scene reported that the blaze had the potential to reach up to 1,500 acres in size.

UPDATE (3:30 p.m.): The Rowher Fire now stands at 50-100 acres in size, with zero percent containment, according to officials with the Angeles National Forest.

Firefighters are battling the blaze in temperatures between 70 and 75 degrees, with a relative humidity of 35-40 percent. Additionally, winds in the area are blowing from the southwest at six to 12 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 18 miles per hour.

Original Post: Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a brush fire near the 11100 block of Mint Canyon Road in Agua Dulce, according to Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“As of 3:06 p.m., the fire is at about four to five acres,” said Lopez.
The fire is currently spreading rapidly, however, no structures are threatened, according to Lopez.
