Santa Clarita Man Assaults Roommate, Lights Their Mobile Home On Fire 

A Santa Clarita man lit the bedroom area of his mobile home ablaze on Tuesday morning before assaulting his roommate who was still inside. 

UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): A suspect was arrested on arson and assault with a deadly weapon charges in relation to the incident.

Around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of a structure fire on the 18500 Block of Soledad Canyon Road near Sierra Highway, according to Dispatch Supervisor Velderrain, with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

“It is a contents fire,” Velderrain said.

The suspect allegedly lit the mobile home on fire before assaulting his roommate, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

As of 10:43 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters had the fire knocked down.

The extent of any injuries sustained remains unknown to the public as of 10:50 a.m. Tuesday

  4. Gee, there are three pictures of it.
    A fire in a mobile home often results in death.
    It is probably red tagged now.
    Someone won’t be getting their security deposit back.
