A small fire in a Metrolink train car has resulted in delays on the Antelope Valley Line Thanksgiving Day.
Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a fire on a Metrolink train at the Santa Clarita Metrolink Station on the 22000 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, said Laurene Lopez, a spokesperson for Metrolink.
“A car on train 261 had filled with smoke,” Lopez said.
As a result of the fire, train 261 headed to Lancaster is expected to be delayed by about one hour, and as of the publication of this article, Metrolink officials believe all other train schedules are expected to stay on track.
It is unclear what had caught fire on the train.
