A small Newhall brush fire near the 14 Freeway was quickly knocked down on the Fourth of July, officials said.
The fire in Newhall was first reported at about 6:06 p.m. Saturday near the southbound 14 Freeway near the I-5 interchange, according to Supervisor Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a small spot,” Flores said.
Engine 73 was able to snuff out the fire, with all other units canceled, according to Fire officials.
Traffic on the southbound 14 Freeway in the Newhall Pass was impacted as of 6:20 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
