Tree Fire In Canyon Country Breaks Out Near 14 Freeway

A small tree fire in Canyon Country broke out near the 14 Freeway on Friday afternoon, prompting a response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Just before 3 p.m. Friday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a brush fire near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and River Circle near the 14 Freeway.

“Looks like a homeless encampment under a tree,” said Marvin Lim with the department.

Initial reports indicate that the fire was only a 10×20 spot. No structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported in connection to the blaze as of 3:15 p.m.

Firefighters were still on scene as of 3:15 p.m.

  1. The tree did not catch on fire by itself. How did this happen? More information in you reports please. Yet another human caused carelessness like 95% of Cal Fires, I presume, but it should be made clear. What is the use of reporting only part of the information?

  2. More poor, cover-up lack reporting by Michael Brown, Meleniak, etc.! Luckily the Vagrants didn’t cause another catastrophic wild fire! They need to always report/tell the truth/facts—stop the enabling of horrible behaviors!
