A pick-up truck sitting in the Vallarta Supermarket parking lot caught fire in Newhall Saturday morning, prompting a response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
At approximately 11:37 a.m. Saturday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Vallarta Supermarket on the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue in Newhall
“It was a reported vehicle fire,” Supervisor Pickett with the department said shortly after noon. “We’re on scene and about to clear.”

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a green pick-up truck with smoke coming from under the hood, according to officials on scene.
One fire engine and one patrol unit with Los Angeles County Fire Station 73 were able to handle the fire within 20 minutes, Pickett added.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and the exact cause of the fire was unknown as of Saturday afternoon.
