Both Interstate 5 (5 Freeway) and State Route 14 (14 Freeway) has been closed due to reports of heavy snow on Saturday morning.
As of 8 a.m. Saturday, both the 5 Freeway north of Castaic and the 14 Freeway east of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country have been closed due to heavy snow and icy conditions on the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

The 5 Freeway is closed from Parker Road in Castaic to Grapevine Road due to snow and icy road conditions, according to Caltrans.
The “snow gate” is open at Lake Hughes Road in Castaic to allow northbound traffic to make U-turns, according to officials.
The 14 Freeway is fully closed between Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country and Avenue S in the Antelope Valley.
CHP officials also reported a mudslide causing traffic issues on the 14 Freeway before the shutdown.
There is no expected reopening time.
