A well-involved 5 Freeway vehicle fire has prompted a SigAlert, snarling traffic leaving Santa Clarita, officials said.
UPDATE 1:15 p.m.: All lanes are back open, according to CHP officials.
Around 12:15 p.m: first responders received reports of a vehicle fire on the southbound 5 Freeway north of Weldon Canyon, said Marvin Lim, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a well-involved vehicle fire with no spread to the brush,” Lim said.
As a result of the fire, California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Officers have issued a SigAlert blocking the No. 4 and 5 lanes for approximately one hour, according to officials.
