A big rig carrying dog food overturned Monday morning causing rough traffic through the Newhall Pass.
Around 5:15 a.m. Monday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a big rig carrying dog food on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 210 Freeway, according to Caltrans officials.
The big rig was carrying around 75,000 pounds of dog food which needs to be off-loaded, according to officials.
The crash has closed the southbound 5 Freeway connector to the eastbound 210 Freeway, the southbound 5 Freeway truck route connector to the 14 Freeway and the southbound 14 Freeway truck route to the southbound 5 Freeway.
The crash caused rough traffic through the Newhall Pass as crews worked to off-load the dog food and upright the truck.
It is unknown how long lanes will be blocked, according to officials.
