A 5 Freeway traffic collision involving a big rig north of Santa Clarita has impacted traffic Wednesday morning.
Around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 5 Freeway near Templin Highway north of Castaic, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A big rig went off the Freeway and down the embankment, according to California Department of Transportation, (CalTrans) officials.
As a result of the crash, the two right lanes are blocked, according to officials.
CalTrans officials are working on bringing the truck back up to the roadway, and may have to pump the fuel tank, according to officials.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the right lane was still blocked in order to allow for the offloading of 24,000 pounds of frozen chicken, according to CalTrans.
No major injuries were reported, according to Lopez.
