Castaic Teen Killed In Crash Involving Tanker Truck

A Castaic teen was killed in a crash involving a tanker truck Tuesday evening.

Around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a crash involving a tanker truck on The Old Road south of Parker Road in Castaic, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

“A 2021 Toyota Camry was located on its roof on the west side of The Old Road, south of Parker Road down a dirt ditch embankment with the solo driver trapped,” Greengard said.

Kenneth Forte, 18, from Castaic, was extracted by Fire Department personnel and transported to Henry Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Greengard.

“The driver of the semi tanker truck remained on scene and the investigation is ongoing,” Greengard said.

Any witnesses to this collision are encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office at 661-600-1600.

Castaic Teen Killed In Crash Involving Tanker Truck

  1. Oh God, I’m so sorry for this family losing their son. Prayers for them all.

  2. My heart goes out to the famly of the young man that lost his life in this tragic accident. I would like to give the editor a message, however. I think it’s appalling that you used the word “killed”, as if to assume that there was mal-intent involved. He “succumbed” to hs injuries. Just as reported by the officer. No one knows the culpability of this incident yet. I think it’s high time that media outlets put an end to sensationalizing content to get clicks and views at the expense of the victims and their familys. Shame on you.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
