An early-morning 5 Freeway crash resulted in one person being sent to the hospital after being extricated from their vehicle Wednesday, officials said. 

Around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision over the side with possible people trapped on the northbound 5 Freeway at McBean Parkway, said Marvin Lim, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

“There was one person trapped,” Lim said. 

Fire officials could not confirm how far off the side of the road the vehicle went, Lim said. 

“One person was transported to the hospital,” Lim said. 

The condition of the patient is unknown as of Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.
