Five individuals were sent to the hospital Friday morning as a result of a 5 Freeway crash in Castaic, officials said.
At around 4 a.m. Friday, first responders responded to a four-car traffic collision on the southbound 5 Freeway north of Hasley Canyon Road, said Austin Bennett, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“There were three vehicles and one big rig,” Bennett said.
As a result of the crash, five people were sent to the hospital, according to officials.
“There were three trauma patients, and two patients had minor injuries,” Bennett said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes for two hours to clear the roadway; however, all lanes were open as of 9:10 a.m. Friday, according to officials.
The current condition of the five individuals was unknown as of Friday morning.
