Four people have been hospitalized, including two children after a serious crash involving a pick-up truck off the I-5 freeway in Castaic. 

Around 1:06 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area units responded to a crash involving a black pickup truck on the northbound I-5, just north of Hasley Canyon Road.

“Units arrived on scene and observed a single black pick which appeared to have major damage,” Carlos Burgos-Lopez, a spokesperson with CHP told KHTS Sunday afternoon.

Two adults and two children were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital by ambulance.

Initial reports indicated that two of the children were airlifted to a hospital in Northridge, and the severity of their injuries is currently unknown.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
