Head-On San Francisquito Canyon Road Crash Traps One, Hospitalizes Two

Two people were sent to the hospital Wednesday, including one airlift, after a head-on San Francisquito Canyon Road crash, officials said.

On Wednesday around 6:10 a.m., first responders received reports of a head-on traffic collision on San Francisquito Canyon Road near Lake Elizabeth Road, said Austin Bennett, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It was a head-on crash involving a public works vehicle and a sedan,” Bennett said.

When units arrived on the scene, they reported one person was trapped in one of the vehicles and requested a helicopter to respond, according to Fire officials.

“One trauma patient was airlifted to a local trauma center,” Bennett said.

A second patient was transported by ground to the hospital.

Palmdale Sheriff’s deputies are encouraging those who commute on canyon roads to “slow down.”

“Your life is not worth placing at risk to get to a destination faster,” Palmdale Sheriff’s officials wrote in a statement.

The condition of the two patients is unknown as of Wednesday morning, according to Fire officials.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
