Horse-Hauling Trailer Crashes Down Shallow Embankment In Santa Clarita

A pickup truck and its attached horse-hauling trailer crashed into a shallow embankment near Arboleda Trailhead in Canyon Country on Thursday.

Around 9 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a trailer near the intersection of Via Princessa and Golden Valley Road, next to the Arboleda Trailhead in Santa Clarita, according to Ruben Munos, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The call came in at exactly 9 p.m. and we responded to a van over the embankment,” Munos said.

When emergency responders arrived on-scene, several horses were extricated from the trailer and tied to posts, while firefighters worked to recover the vehicles from the lip of the embankment, according to witnesses.

The horses were observed able to walk out of the trailer, and no transports were reported as a result of the crash.

The extent of any injuries sustained remains unknown to the public as of Friday afternoon.

  1. So glad to know no horses were injured in the making of this crash and required transport for medical treatment which would have made them patients too.

  2. Was it the Pelosi-Gruesome Jack-@ss motorcade?
