The southbound side of the I-5 Freeway was temporarily closed Thursday morning due to an overturned big rig near Lebec, north of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Around 3:45 a.m. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials began receiving reports of a slowdown on the 5 Freeway near Lebec due to an overturned big rig in the southbound lanes, according to CHP incident logs.

As of 6:30 a.m. Thursday, all southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway have been blocked for an unknown duration due to the incident.
Traffic is being diverted off at Lebec Road, according to California Department of Transportation officials.
