Kevin Aleman, 25, of Inglewood, was pronounced dead at the scene of a traffic collision on Jan. 19 on the I-5 in the Grapevine, according to Sara Ardalani, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Aleman rear-ended a big rig truck while traveling in his Honda sedan around 6:30 a.m. Saturday just north of Smokey Bear Road, causing the vehicle to catch fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP responded to the scene of the collision, which blocked all northbound lanes for several hours, according to officials.
Traffic was diverted to the right shoulder while Los Angeles County Fire Department units doused the vehicle fire, allowing CHP units and tow trucks to clear the debris.
CHP officials suspect that the Honda had been speeding before the crash, which may have been a factor in the collision.
