The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is closing the southbound 5 Freeway this weekend during overnight hours to repair damage caused by a landslide.
On Saturday, all lanes on the southbound 5 Freeway near Pyramid Lake are scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m to 8 a.m. Sunday to allow for repairs to the roadway after a landslide.
The second closure is set for Sunday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., according to Caltrans officials.

The southbound I-5 Smokey Bear Road and Vista Del Lago Road off-ramps are set to stay open but the southbound on-ramps are scheduled to be closed at both locations, according to officials.
Southbound traffic is set to detour east on State Route 138 and south on State Route 14 to Southbound I-5.
The construction is subject to change due to weather or operational reasons.
The northbound I-5 is not involved in these weekend closures.
Currently, the southbound 5 Freeway has been reduced to only two lanes where the landslide undermines the shoulder of the highway.
This emergency project is set to control damage at the landslide, located at post mile 66.57 north of Templin Highway.
Caltrans is set to construct permanent repairs in the future.
Caltrans strongly advises motorists to allow extra travel time and expect delays in both directions on I-5 in northern Los Angeles County due to multiple weather-related slides.
