Lil Wayne Remembers Santa Paula Man Killed In Valencia Crash

A Santa Paula man who was killed in an early morning crash on Thursday was remembered by friends – including rapper Lil Wayne – for his talent in skateboarding.

Anthony Medina, 30, of Santa Paula, was identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office as the man killed in the early morning hours in a Valencia crash on Highway 126

Rapper Lil Wayne, a known skateboarding aficionado, took to social media after the news broke to honor Medina’s memory.

“This man was a GREAT man. This man would wait for hours for me to show up and then skate for hours w me w the same positive energy from the moment he shakes my hand when I enter to the handshake when I leave. We lost a perfect friend last night but I’ll never step in the Berrics without taking a moment if not hours to remember him. Rest in paradise Anthony Medina. A great, positive, & perfect friend,” wrote the rapper in an Instagram post.

On Thursday around 3:30 a.m., first responders responded to a traffic collision on Highway 126 and Wolcott Way in Valencia, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

“Initial reports appeared a tractor-trailer attempted a U-turn and a Volkswagen collided into the side of the trailer of the big rig,” Greengard said.

Medina, the driver of the Volkswagen was pronounced dead on arrival at 4:09 a.m. by paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

  1. It’s a heart breaking to see the young leave this Earth, before the parents, in general kids buried their parents not the other way around.
My condolences to the family, specially to his father whom I know for many years.
