One person was airlifted to the hospital Monday morning after being trapped in their vehicle in a Gorman 5 Freeway crash, officials said.
Around 7:15 a.m., first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 5 Freeway near Gorman Road, said Leslie Lua, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We were responding to a report of a traffic collision with a person trapped,” Lua said. “Our units confirmed one person was trapped in a two-vehicle collision.”
After first responders were able to extricate the victim from the wreckage, they requested a helicopter, according to Fire officials.
“The freeway became a landing zone for Copter 21 which transported one patient to a local hospital,” Lua said.
No other injuries were reported.
The condition of the patient is unknown as of Monday morning, according to Fire officials.
