One person was reported dead on scene after a crash involving an overturned vehicle in Newhall following a traffic collision Tuesday night, officials said.
Reports were received shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday of a vehicle losing control and flipping after exiting the northbound 14 Freeway onto Newhall Avenue, according to officials.
“We got the call at 9:07 of an overturned vehicle,” said Supervisor Ami McBride with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “We are still working on the patient, but they have been extricated from the vehicle.”
Fire Department officials did not follow up with a transport to the local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced on scene, according to officials present.
Newhall Avenue exit of the northbound 14 freeway is closed for an unknown amount of time, according to McBride.
The vehicle that overturned may have sideswiped another vehicle before losing control on the offramp to Newhall Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

When I was merging onto the 14 freeway from the 5 last night the car almost hit me on the overpass. He then slowed down and The kids and I watched him swerve across all three lanes and then again try to zoom past me which resulted in him going up the hillside and then slowing to maybe 35 miles an hour again. I pulled off the next exit and called 911. Too bad it wasn’t enough.
Hi, I m glad you weren’t hurt. The driver was my lifelong friend, Ann Diaz. I’d known her about 40 years. Just found out today and am in shock!
Cant imagine what happened. Did you see it all? Was she really going 90mph?.
She was a really good mom, our kids were born around the same time. She had a great smile and laugh, she will surely be missed.
