A woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the 14 freeway near Newhall Saturday morning, authorities said.

The driver and only occupant of a 2009 Dodge Challenger was driving northbound on the 14 freeway at 1:45 a.m. when the crash occurred south of Agua Dulce Canyon Road, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy.

“She was not wearing her seatbelt… and was partially ejected from the left side of the vehicle,” Cassidy said.

The vehicle was in the number-one lane when it drifted to the left into the carpool lane and struck the center divider, she said.

The vehicle then travelled along the center divider median wall before veering sharply to the right, where it crossed all lanes.

It proceeded to vault over the brush on the freeway shoulder, travel up the dirt brush hillside and land on its roof against another dirt hillside.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
