One person was sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound I-5 Freeway in Valencia Friday evening.

Just before 4:15 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision involving three to four vehicles on the southbound 5 Freeway near Rye Canyon Road, according to Marvin Lim with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The call came in at 4:13 and we were on scene at 4:20,” Lim said. “There were at least three vehicles involved.”

One patient was transported to the local hospital, according to Lim.

No other injuries were made public Friday evening.

The number one and two lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway were temporarily  blocked Friday as the collision was handled by first responders, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
