An individual was killed in a Piru Highway 126 crash Tuesday morning impacting traffic out of Santa Clarita, officials said.
On Tuesday morning around 5:45 a.m. first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the westbound Highway 126 east of Main Street in Piru, said Officer Ryan Ayers, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Moorpark Area office.
“It was a vehicle versus a bicycle,” Ayers said.
When first responders arrived on scene one person was declared dead on arrival, according to officials.
All westbound traffic was blocked, however, CHP officers are diverting westbound traffic through eastbound lanes, according to CHP officials.
All lanes are expected to be reopened by 9 a.m.
