One person was killed and one person was transported to the hospital in a three-vehicle Santa Clarita crash on Thursday, officials said.

UPDATE (7:55 p.m.): Soledad Canyon Road is closed for an unknown duration as law enforcement investigates the crash and works to clear the wreckage. Road closures are currently in place between River Circle and Lost Canyon Road on Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country as a result of the fatal collision.
The Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station is advising the public to find alternate routes, according to Sheriff’s officials on Twitter.

Around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision with persons trapped on the 17000 block of Soledad Canyon Road in front of Canyon Country Park in Santa Clarita, according Jeremy Stafford, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One person was killed and two other patients were transported to the hospital as a result of the crash, according to Fire officials.
The extent of all other injuries sustained had not been made available as of 6 p.m. Thursday.
As of 6:20 p.m., Soledad Canyon Road was closed for an unknown duration, according to officials on scene.
