A Canyon Country crash sent one vehicle down the embankment behind the nearby Vallarta Supermarket on Saturday, landing on its left side and temporarily trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, emergency responders received reports of an expanded traffic collision with persons trapped, possibly requiring a technical rescue, on Shangri La Drive, just south of Soledad Canyon Road, behind the Vallarta Supermarket in Canyon Country, according to Ed Pickett, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We responded to a reported vehicle into a tree,” Pickett said. “Two persons were trapped on-scene.”
While the cause of the crash is under investigation, it appears that the vehicle rolled off the embankment behind the Vallarta Supermarket and landed on its left side, temporarily trapping the driver and passenger in the wreckage, according to officials.
The two patients were extricated after a 20-minute “technical rescue,” before being gathered onto gurneys, and transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
The extent of the injuries sustained remain unknown to the public as of Saturday afternoon.

Why do you have to have the large picture covering most of the stories?
Would you rather not have any pictures to show what went on?
At least it gives the readers an idea what happened.
Why do you put an injury lawyer advertisement on top of the crash photo? This is unethical.
Remember, this is a typical KHTS news story… “Breaking story more to follow” it never happens… no follow up… just dies as the reporters are
clueless as to happens next!
An advertisement for an attorney is useless, no follow up story!
Marion, some people need pictures as the story as the writer makes no sense.. they aren’t ever on scene for any accident let along a brush fire.. a simple phone to the 911 dispatcher tells all they need, so therefore no follow up!
The pictures show what color the vehicle was. Signal was famous for showing a blue car and calling it silver in the article.
HTS does not employ journalists. They are interns, college students, who copy and paste press releases.
Real classy, a OPO ambulance chaser Ad imbedded in the picture——-
Seriously? This was reported initially by eye witnesses that this vehicle came DOWN Shangri La Drive, hit the median right at the rear driveway into the back of Vallarta parking lot, hit the tree on the parkway and flipped upright. They said never hit the brakes. Were there 2 in the vehicle? Most people on scene said one girl apps 20. This vehicle did not go over the embankment from on top of the Shangri la side of Vallarta’s parking lot. I hope she is healing but question why. She did not apply the emergency brake or shift into low. We drive down Shangri La on a daily basis. Please people, use low gear coming down & save your brakes.
