A party bus driver was hospitalized Friday night when he was hit by a car after exiting the bus on the 14 Freeway east of Santa Clarita.
At around 9:40 p.m. Friday first responders received reports of a vehicle that had hit a pedestrian on the northbound 14 Freeway and Agua Dulce Canyon Road off-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP).
“It came in as an auto versus a pedestrian involving a bus,” said Supervisor Chavez with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “One person was transported.”
According to CHP, a party bus had pulled over on the roadside after becoming overheated and the bus driver had exited the vehicle.
When exiting, the driver was hit by another passing vehicle, a black Nissan Sentra.
The driver of the other car pulled over on the roadside. According to CHP the person who was hit was awake upon responder’s arrival but “felt like he was going to pass out.”
The driver was taken to the hospital around 10:10 p.m. His condition is not known as of Friday 10:15 p.m. No traffic was impacted on the 14 Freeway as a result of the accident.
