Pursuit Suspect Hospitalized After High-Speed Rollover Crash, Dog Also In Vehicle

A high-speed pursuit ended Wednesday with a rollover crash involving a suspect and their dog on the 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce.

At around 8:30 p.m, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers attempted to catch up to a vehicle going over 120 miles per hour on the 14 Freeway, per initial reports.

Minutes later the vehicle, at a high rate of speed, rolled over on an embankment off the northbound 14 Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road, according to CHP.

Officers worked to detain the suspect at gunpoint and called the Los Angeles County Fire Department as the suspect was reported to have been “severely injured.”

The female suspect is reported to have suffered head trauma and possible broken ribs, according to CHP.

A dog was also inside the car, according to CHP.

The suspect was transported to the hospital, according to supervisor Miguel Ornealas with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. As of 9 p.m. Wednesday no information is known as to the condition of the suspect or the dog.
