A crash in Santa Clarita sent one car off the roadway near a busy Valencia intersection, resulting in one patient being transported to the hospital on Monday evening.

About 3:45 p.m. Monday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a possible overturned vehicle near the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and McBean Parkway in Valencia, according to Cheryl Sims, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The call went out as a traffic collision with possible entrapment,” Sims said. “Sheriff responded and requested two ambulances. The call was closed at 4:22.”

Although two ambulances were called to the scene to treat injuries, only one patient was transported to a local hospital, according to Sims.

Traffic was temporarily slowed in the area due to the incident.
