Officials responded to The Old Road near the southbound I-5 Freeway on-ramp just after 10 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a truck flying off the freeway, according to CHP traffic logs.

When officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene, they discovered that at least on individual was trapped in the crashed Toyota pickup truck.

“We transported two individuals to a trauma center,” said Ed Pickett, dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The individuals are believed to be in “moderate to critical condition,” according to Pickett, as they were transported with paramedics.

The exact cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
