Vehicle Crashes Through Barn & Charm Storefront In Newhall

A car crashed into the window of an antique store in Newhall Saturday evening, causing extensive damage to the storefront but no major injuries, officials said.

Around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision into a structure at Barn & Charm antique store on the 22700 block of Lyons Avenue near Walnut Street, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, according to Dispatch Supervisor Troy with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

At least one person was taken into custody by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station under suspicion of driving under the influence, per officials on scene.

The level of structural damage and safety level of the building is under assessment as of 9:00 p.m. Saturday.

Two lanes of eastbound Lyons Avenue were blocked for the duration of the incident.
