The Metrolink Antelope Valley Line is scheduled to be closed for maintenance between Newhall and Los Angeles this weekend, affecting Santa Clarita commuters.
On Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12, a maintenance and rehabilitation project along the Metrolink Antelope Valley Line is set to temporarily close the tracks between Newhall and Los Angeles.
During the rehabilitation project, the Antelope Valley Line train service is only operating between Newhall and Lancaster, however, Metrolink is expected to provide alternate bus services for passengers traveling between Newhall and Los Angeles.
Metrolink-provided buses are said to take the fastest, safest routes available, however, delays are possible due to traffic and buses cannot travel the distance from Newhall and Los Angeles as fast as a train can, according to Metrolink officials.
To catch the alternate bus services, a Metrolink ticket is all that is needed at the following locations:
- Metrolink Los Angeles Union Station: The buses will pull into the Patsaouras Bus Bay (5) Plaza located at: 800 N. Alameda Street Los Angeles, CA
- Metrolink Glendale Station: 400 W Cerritos Ave, Glendale, CA 91204
- Metrolink Burbank-Downtown: 201 N Front St, Burbank, CA 91502
- Metrolink Burbank Airport-North- 3600 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank CA 91505
- Metrolink Sun Valley Station: 8360 San Fernando Rd, Sun Valley, CA 91352
- Metrolink Sylmar/San Fernando Station: 12219 Frank Modugno Dr, San Fernando, CA 91340
- Metrolink Newhall Station: 24300 Railroad Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91321
