Kim Goldman has left a tremendous mark on the Santa Clarita Valley. Since her brother’s homicide in 1994, she has traveled the country sharing her pain and the healing process her family has endured leading up to and after the trials against O.J. Simpson. Goldman and her father, Fred Goldman, instituted The Ron Goldman Foundation for Justice which serves to offer assistance and resources to those whom are the victim of a crime. She also serves on the board of The National Center for Victims of Crime, speaking on victim’s issues as well as speaking out about judicial reform and the role of the media.

“I’m actively working on, right now, to get a victim’s rights amendment to the Federal Constitution which is the first time in over 200 years that the Constitution will be changed,” said Goldman. “We’re working hard to get an amendment to protect victim’s rights which currently there is nothing on a Federal level.”

Goldman is an active member of her community and gets back to her roots of working with youth. Initially founded in January 2000, Goldman sought out and joined the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project late in 2005. The organization was created in response to a city-sponsored needs assessment of local youth. The charity provides free mentoring and support groups to teenagers who are dealing with issues around drugs, alcohol, mourning, anger, depression, suicide and many other problems that they may face.

“The Youth Project came about almost 8 years ago when I was working for Best Buddies,” said Goldman. “It spoke to me. It was about teenagers and really helping them through the most difficult times in their life. I felt like I could make a difference.”

As State Director for Best Buddies California; a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by pairing them in friendships with their non-disabled peers as well as job placement and coaching, Kim was responsible for program development, fundraising, marketing and administration for 5 regional offices all across California, impacting the lives of more than 5,000 people on a yearly basis.

“Kim is one of the most incredible woman out there,” said Jeri Seratti-Goldman, Owner of KHTS. “She works tirelessly and very much under the radar. I’ve never seen a director wear so many hats; all this while being an amazing mom.”

Goldman serves as an advisory board member for the SCV Homes for Heroes; a governing board of community, business and nonprofit organization leaders that has been formed and teamed with Habitat for Humanity San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. The goal is to meet the needs of the more than 10,000 veterans and their families and build on Habitat for Humanity’s model of affordable housing.

“It’s important for me to establish a level of community involvement for my son to emulate as well,” said Goldman. “He comes out there with me and paints, hammers or he helps me with raffle tickets for the event.”

Goldman is a proud recipient of the Soroptomist International of Santa Clarita Valley “Making a Difference for Women” award in 2008 and was recently named one of Santa Clarita Valley’s “40 Under 40″ leadership award in 2009.  She has also become a successful website owner, public speaker and best-selling author.
