“We’re investigating a felony assault that occurred Thursday night in the 26900 block of Hillsborough Parkway,” said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Apparently, there was an argument over fireworks and another disruption in the neighborhood,” Harris said. “That argument turned into a physical altercation, involving, potentially, a number of suspects — possibly some juveniles and some adults.”
There reportedly have been other complaints with this group, Harris said.
When deputies responded, the victim was still at his residence. After speaking with deputies, the victim, who sustained facial injuries that required medical attention, was transferred to the hospital, Harris said.
Sheriff’s Station officials said a number of detectives were working on the case, and that it was an active investigation, so they were not releasing the identities of any of the “persons of interest.”
“At this point, we’re just trying to to ID all those who were involved,” Harris said, “and we have a number of persons that we’re trying to talk to.”
There was no other information available at this time.
