The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) has moved the virtual public hearing on its Water Shortage Contingency Plan and Ordinance to June 9.
The virtual hearing, which would allow the public to provide feedback on the agency’s water shortage plan, was originally set to take place on April 26 but is now scheduled to occur at 6:30 p.m. on June 9.
“This plan and ordinance are part of several important planning efforts the agency is undertaking to ensure adequate long-term water quality and supplies for today and tomorrow,” said representatives with SCV Water.
The hearing for the plan comes after the 30-day public review and comment period that ended April 12th.

Laws including the California Urban Water Management Planning Act require water agencies to have a water shortage contingency plan.
“This plan will help SCV Water prioritize actions when water shortage conditions occur such as drought, earthquakes, fires or other catastrophic events,” said agency representatives. “Important components of the plan focus on water conservation and water shortage planning.”
SCV Water held a public workshop for the Water Shortage Contingency Plan and Ordinance in January that can be viewed, along with the presentation and fact sheet, here.

Build Dams. Learned years ago that CA hadn’t built a dam in 75 yrs. Learned also that CA would be self-sufficient if it built dams and collected its own water. Stop spending $23++ BILLION every year of our hard earned tax dollars on ILLEGALS and build some dams! We’re tired of being threatened with Droughts every year!! CA would be Self-sufficient if we build dams. Have a CLUE!!
Yet, they keep allowing 1,000s of more new houses to be built!!
