A chance of light rain and cooler temperatures are expected in the Santa Clarita weather forecast starting Wednesday afternoon.
Starting Wednesday afternoon, there is a 40 percent chance of rain for the Santa Clarita Valley, said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
“Rain will be fairly light, around a tenth of an inch or less,” Kittell said.
Temperatures are also expected to drop about 15 degrees compared to Tuesday, according to Kittell.
Wednesday temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50’s, with southeast winds forecast for 15 to 25 mph, according to officials.
“There is no wind advisory for the area,” Kittell said.
Despite a winter weather watch expected to be put into effect for mountain areas throughout Los Angeles County, snow is not expected to impact the Grapevine, according to officials.
“The Grapevine should not have any impactful snow,” Kittell added.
By Thursday, skies are expected to clear, with temperatures returning to the 70s, according to officials.
