Triple-digit temperatures return to the Santa Clarita weather forecast bringing an elevated fire risk to the area, officials said Tuesday.
Starting Tuesday through Wednesday, temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s and by Thursday temperatures are expected to rise above the triple-digit mark, said David Sweet, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“Thursday through Saturday will be the warmest days with temperatures in the lower triple-digits,” Sweet said.
By Thursday, temperatures are expected to be between 95 and 101 degrees, and Friday through Saturday temperatures are forecasted to be between 98 and 104, according to Sweet.
Humidity levels are expected to drop to around 10 percent Thursday through Saturday with breezy conditions, according to officials.
With the low humidity levels and warm heat and winds, an elevated fire risk has been issued for the Santa Clarita Valley.
“There are no red flag warnings issued for Santa Clarita,” Sweet said.
Although conditions are expected to be in 100s, these conditions are normal for this time of year, according to Sweet.
Starting Sunday into next week, temperatures are expected to cool back down into the low 90s.
