A mild storm is expected to strike the Santa Clarita Valley later this week.
Expected to be much lighter than the past storms seen this season, the incoming storm is predicted to strike Tuesday, bringing a slight chance of thunderstorms later in the week.
“This upcoming storm is looking to be generally weaker than past storms of this winter, except for a slight chance of thunderstorms late Wednesday-Thursday,” National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles officials stated on social media Monday.
Between one-half inch to 1 inch of rain is expected Tuesday through Thursday, according to NWS officials.
In the Tejon Pass and the Grapevine north of the Santa Clarita Valley, light snow is expected as snow levels lower to 3,000 to 5,000 feet on Wednesday and Thursday.
