Triple-digit temperatures are expected in the Santa Clarita weather forecast Wednesday with a 10-degree cooling trend by Thursday, officials said.
On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to be around 100 degrees in Santa Clarita Valley, which is about 15 degrees above normal for this time of year, said Mike Wofford, meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS).
“(Wednesday) is going to be the hottest day, but we will start trending down quickly tomorrow and through the weekend,” Wofford said.
Despite temperatures reaching 100 degrees in June, these are not record-breaking temperatures, according to officials.
Surrounding areas have seen temperatures around 109 degrees in years past, Wofford said.
By Thursday, temperatures are expected to start cooling off back to normal levels for this time of year.
By the weekend temperatures are expected to be around 75 degrees, Wofford said.
For Santa Clarita residents needing a cool place to visit, all City libraries remain open with the use of face masks and social distancing.
