Triple Digits Return To Santa Clarita Weather Forecast

Temperatures are yet again set to be in the triple digits starting Wednesday, with gusty winds and low humidity raising fire conditions, officials said.

Starting Wednesday, temperatures in the Santa Clarita Valley are expected to rise above the 100-degree mark, according to Keily Delerme, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

“We are expecting a warming trend,” Delerme said.

Temperatures are expected to be around 101 degrees Wednesday, according to officials.

“Wednesday is going to be the hottest day of the week, with Thursday cooling off, but still warm,” Delerme said.

Wind speeds are expected to be gusty Tuesday evening into Wednesday, with gusts of up to 25 mph, according to officials.

Humidity levels are expected to be low, and combined with the gusty winds, this raises the potential for brush fires, according to officials.

Despite officials predicting a hot 2019 summer, Santa Clarita hasn’t yet reached the highs it did last year, Delerme said.

“This year, temperatures have been cooler,” Delerme said. “We have had more low-pressure systems this year, which has kept temperatures cooler.”

By Friday, temperatures are expected to be back into the 90s, with triple-digit temperatures forecasted to return over the weekend.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
