A Wind Advisory issued for the Santa Clarita Valley is expected to last through Sunday afternoon, with officials forecasting wind gusts of up to 55 mph that could result in power outages.
Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, the Santa Clarita Valley has been placed under a Wind Advisory by officials with the National Weather Service (NWS).
“Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the advisory reads. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
NWS officials forecast northwest to north winds between 20 and 30 mph for Saturday, with gusts to 50 mph. Those speeds are expected to remain consistent into Sunday, becoming north to northeast winds with isolated gusts to 55 mph.

This is the second weekend in a row in which a Wind Advisory has been issued for the Santa Clarita Valley. Wind speeds have remained fairly consistent in the week between.
As of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, no areas of the Santa Clarita Valley were under consideration for Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) by Southern California Edison (SCE) as a result of the wind.
The Wind Advisory is expected to last until 3 p.m. Sunday.
