Dodgers Reclaim World Series Lead With 6-2 Game 3 Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers took a one game lead in the World Series with their 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3.

Walker Buehler started on the mound for the Dodgers and was brilliant, he gave up only one run in six innings pitched.

Opposite Buehler was Rays starter Charlie Morton, who the Dodgers were able to take advantage of early for an early lead in the game.

Justin Turner got things started offensively for the Dodgers in the game’s opening inning with a solo home run for a 1-0 lead and it wasn’t until Turner was at the plate once again in the third that the Dodgers managed to put together another score.

After Corey Seager was hit by a pitch, Turner doubled to put runners in scoring position and Max Muncy came up with a two-RBI single on a line drive to center field to extend the Dodger lead to 3-0.

The Dodgers continued to move the baton and put balls in play to keep the offensive outburst going in the fourth.

Cody Bellinger opened the inning with a single and Joc Pederson moved him to third with a single of his own.

Austin Barnes laid down the sacrifice bunt to bring Bellinger home for a 4-0 lead and Mookie Betts kept the run going with an RBI-single that found the gap in the shift to add one more score in the inning expanding the Dodger lead to 5-0.

The Rays finally managed to score off of Buehler in the fifth on a pair of doubles from Manuel Margot and Willy Adames to close the gap to 5-1, but their offense was unable to find another further success until the ninth inning.

The Dodgers meanwhile responded with one more score in the sixth on an Austin Barnes solo shot to center field to make it 6-1. Randy Arozarena hit a solo home run of his own for the Rays in the ninth off Kenley Jansen for the game’s final score 6-2.

Now with a 2-1 lead in the series, the Dodgers have an opportunity to take control of the series in Game 4 on Saturday at 5:08 p.m.
