The Team USA men’s volleyball team, which includes two players from Santa Clarita, lost a game against the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Sunday.
The volleyball team, which includes Santa Clarita players Kyle Ensing and David Smith, lost the match at the Tokyo Olympics Sunday.
Team USA men’s volleyball was defeated in Sunday’s game, their second match in the 2020 Olympics so far.
Overall, the ROC won the match with a final 25-23 win.
Officially, the ROC does not represent the country of Russia, which was banned from competing after helping players covertly use performance-enhancing drugs in 2014.
This is 36-year-old former Saugus High School athlete David Smith’s third Olympics.

During the match, he was positioned as a middle blocker and was able to score 6 points.
The Tokyo Olympics are Valencia Alumnus Kyle Ensing’s first Olympic games. He played toward the end of Sunday’s match.
In their match against France, their first match in the Tokyo Olympics, Team USA had won 3-0.
Team USA is scheduled to have its next match against Tunisia on Tuesday.
