The sheriff’s station received a call about 11:30 a.m. alerting them to the unfamiliar bundle in the hallway. The watch commander told KHTS that the building had been evacuated and traffic restricted on Avenue Crocker, which runs in front of the affected building.
L.A. County Fire Hazardous Materials arrived and began to secure the location, adding sandbags around the area for protection as they awaited the arrival of Sheriff’s Arson and Explosives investigators.
The explosives team x-rayed the package and found it to contain food. No word on if it was spicy.
