Deputies are now seeking one man in connection with the shooting, officials said. Michael McGlothan, 51, is wanted for questioning in connection with the crime.

Sheriff’s Department officials reported Wednesday evening that one victim was killed and another wounded in that shooting. One man was reportedly confirmed dead at the scene.

Fire officials confirmed there were two reported shooting victims at the 25700 block of Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita. They received the call at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Coroner’s officials are not releasing the identity of the victim pending the notification of next of kin, but a medical officer confirmed it was a 21-year-old man.

Deputies are still looking for two male suspects in the incident, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

Investigators were still on scene processing evidence as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Lt. Eddie Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau.

Investigators are releasing little information, and detectives are still looking for witnesses.

Initial reports indicated a possible domestic incident, but officials are not confirming any additional information at this time regarding the circumstances around the shooting or whether there was any relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Both victims reportedly are connected to this second shooting incident.

There are several individuals being detained for questioning, but no arrests were confirmed.

Sheriff’s Department officials confirmed there is believed to be two victims, but their status is not known at this time.

The first shooting was reportedly related to a road rage incident reported at 3:47 p.m. near the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Lost Canyon Road, officials said.

In that case, Ivan Jimenez, 26, was arrested on an assault with a deadly weapon charge. The victim accused Jimenez of shooting out the rear window of his car during a road rage incident.

The preliminary investigation indicates the two incidents are not related, according to sources.

The investigation is active and ongoing, and more information will be posted as it becomes available.

  1. I would have hoped that this news article would have been updated by this morning. It still reads the same as it did last night, even though the headline on the ticker menu on the left says,1 Killed In Canyon Country Shooting, Suspects Sought.

I also turned the radio on to 1220 this morning hoping to hear an update and so far, nothing has been reported on any of the incidents going on here in SCV late yesterday afternoon.
