Ralphs Closing Santa Clarita Location In November

Ralphs grocery store located on Orchard Village Road and Lyons Avenue is set to close on Nov. 8, a store official confirmed.

Signs announcing the closing date and redirecting customers to nearby Ralphs locations are currently posted outside the store.Ralphs Closing Santa Clarita Location In November

The store location has reportedly been losing money on a monthly basis, and the rising cost of healthcare, workers compensation and liability insurance has contributed to the store’s inability to sustain itself, according to one of the store managers.

No employees are being being laid off, he said, and all employees are instead being transferred to nearby locations.

Spokespeople from Ralphs corporate offices were not available for comment on Saturday.

Two Albertsons grocery store locations in Santa Clarita also closed earlier this year because they were “under-performing.”

  1. Where are our retail grocery stores going? Is everyone hoofing it to Cost Co in Canyon Country? Smart and Final is at least a doable local drive.

  2. Are they closeing canypn country store on white canyon & soladad canyon

  3. I have shopped there for 12years since moving to Valencia. I have always found the store to clean, well stocked and full of friendly and helpful employees. I will miss that and the convenience of this this location near my home.

  4. Since the Vallarta opened on Lyons, the Union stores have lost sales.

  5. First the Ralph’s in Valencia, and now the Newhall Post Office. What next?

  6. This particular Ralphs in closing for one simple reason—- a change in demographics in Santa Clarita, especially near Newhall. Bottom line: Mexican-American families would rather shop at that awful Vallarta than at a regular American grocery chain.

In the old days we used to call this “white flight”. Welcome to the United States of Mexico.

    • It is sad to hear that Ralphs is closing. It is always a clean place and the employees are agreeable all the time.. Well, it is what it is…..life brings so many changes, as we all know is part of history, we like it or not. The truth of the matters is that the fruits and vegebles are cheaper than Ralphs. Even though, I would love to support the American stores, why I should pay more money when I could pay less???

  7. THEY SHOULD OPEN A FRESH N EASY THERE
