SCCS (7-3 overall, 3-2 San Joaquin) ended its regular season schedule last night on a high note, pulling away from Fairmont Prep in the 3rd quarter for a 53-40 victory. Tristan Miller and the offense got back on track after matching the points of their last two games combined (46) in the 3rd quarter Thursday.

The Cardinals must now wait for the rest of the San Joaquin league to play tonight to not only see where they end up in the final standings, but ultimately the playoff picture.

The Trinity Knights will complete its inaugural 11-man football season today with a day game at Saugus High School against Excelsior Charter. Ian Caddow and the Knights will be on the field for kickoff at 3:30PM.

Sitting at 4-3, TCA needs a victory to finish with a winning record on the year.

COC Football

Canyons’ had its most explosive game on offense last Saturday, amassing well over 500 yards of offense and six touchdowns. Much of it was due to quarterback Devon Dunn finding his stride in the passing game.

Dunn and the Cougars’ offense will need to build off of that performance with two games remaining in the WSC and a conference title still a possibility.

Tomorrow at Cougar Stadium they’ll have another big challenge with the Moorpark Raiders coming to town. The Raiders picked up a massive double-OT win against Cerritos on Halloween, and come into this game with confidence.

The Cougars’ defense has been a staple of its success all season, and it will need to be the best unit on the field tomorrow against Raiders’ tailback Kado Brown.

Remember: it’s a day game at Cougar Stadium, and the last one of the season. Kickoff is at 1PM, be sure to tune in to AM-1220 KHTS for the call.

Los Angeles Lakers

Your Los Angeles Lakers begin a 5-game East Coast road trip tonight in Brooklyn, and this is probably the best shot they have at getting a win of any of these next five games.

Both Brooklyn (0-5) and LA (0-4) are trying to avoid going 0-82. Only one thing is clear: one of these teams will still be on that path after tonight.

Will we get one of a handful of great games Kobe Bryant has left in the tank? Someone will have to step up in a big way tonight. Tipoff is at 4:30PM.
