Who/What: ASCA Peer Support Group Meeting

Details: ASCA peer support group meetings allow survivors to share abuse & recovery experiences, give one another emotional support, expression of feelings, thoughts, memories, hopes, insights & affirmation for their recovery efforts; & try out new, more adaptive behaviors. In so doing, understand themselves & their recovery process better. Child abuse is physical, emotional, sexual abuse or neglect.

• be with others who understand & share the same challenges
• work towards acceptance & healing of the difficult feelings, which accompany remembering, mourning & transcending the pain of our past
• share approaches to recovery & creative problem solve in the present
• laugh, take care of ourselves & plan for the future
• help others who are going where we have been
